  • Re: Filter Header Style

Posted to DataGrid for Silverlight by milos on Mar 5, 2010
Joe, the one change we made was to replace every Popup with our own implementation (called CommonPopup, in ComponentArt.Silverlight.UI.Utils (ComponentArt.Silverlight.UI.Common assembly), to allow for code reuse between Silverlight and WPF. The code expects that type now. If you make that one change in your XAML (replacing <Popup> with <ComponentArt:CommonPopup>), everything should work the same as before. I hope this helps.
  • Re: Setting up a template column to show true false

whocares, it sounds like you need to use a value converter. You can use this approach to shape the column data in any way you want, as it is bound. There is some good documentation about it on MSDN. I hope this helps.
  • Datagrid: filter case-sensitive?

Posted to DataGrid for Silverlight by hyera on Nov 25, 2009

  • Datagrid resizing issues

Posted to DataGrid for Silverlight by dhomer on Nov 23, 2009
Hello, When using a Datagrid for Silverlight I expected to be able to leave the height and width blank to autoset the size, however this doesn't work. Also if I change the width of the datagrid from code behind it doesn't resize properly and just chops half of the content off!? I notice that all of the demo's are using fixed height datagrids, please can you clarify if this should work? Thanks, Dave
  • ItemSource for non web service methods

Hello, I would like to use the silverlight datagrid to bind to data on the client however I want this to work offline so don't want to use web services like all the examples use. I just want to bind to a collection of objects that support Ienumerable as Silverlight doesn't have System.Data.Datatables. I tried creating a List<SomeObject> as this supports IEnumerable however I just see a blank rows for each object in the collection.... any suggestions? Sample code would be useful Thanks...
  • DataGrid: Strange CPU usage when three datagrid are displayed

Posted to DataGrid for Silverlight by hyera on Nov 19, 2009
Hi, I notice this strange behaviour. In a silverlight page I have three datagrid, filled through WCF services. When this page is displayed, the CPU usage (associated to the browser process) increases until about: Iexplore.exe (Internet Explorer 8): 35% Firefox.exe (Firefox 3): 50% and remains the same also after the WCF services have filled the grid (with a web debugger, infact, I know when the WCF service has finished), until I change window or tab, and the three datagrid are no longer displayed...

hyera, the only way to customize the filter dropdown at this point is to use a custom template to override the default XAML for DataGridColumnFilterHeader.

Hello hyera, Filter dropdown customization isn't supported in this version and the control does its best to "do the right thing" for every filter and every data type. We plan to include full templating of the dropdown in a future version. In the meantime, you could use a custom template to override the default XAML for DataGridColumnFilterHeader.
  • Re: Two-way binding on DataGrid templated column -does not seem to work

Posted to DataGrid for Silverlight by milos on Nov 5, 2009
    Try passing the whole object to the template, and then using TwoWay binding within that. Like this: < cart : DataGridTemplateColumn Binding = "{Binding}" > < cart : DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate > < DataTemplate > < CheckBox IsChecked = "{Binding IsSelected, Mode=TwoWay}" /> </ DataTemplate > </ cart : DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate > </ cart : DataGridTemplateColumn > I hope this helps.
  • Print or Export data from Grid

Posted to DataGrid for Silverlight by jtml2009 on Nov 3, 2009
Any idea if we can print or export data to CSV from DataGrid. I understand that creating CSV from DataGrid can be done easily through code, but checking to see if DataGrid has any Print or Export to different formats kinds of options built in?
