You are correct. There are ways to have the installer perform an in-place minor revision upgrade. We will likely implement this for the next major version of DV. DV 2010 is both our first edition of a major new product and our first endeavor with a new (for us) installation platform (Caphyon Advanced Installer, we have been using InstallShield to this point, and continue with IS for the UI Framework suite). We have not noticed a problem with Win7/VS2010. However, this is a new product and installer and we are interested in any issues you are experiencing. I suggest running the installer again with the following command line switches: /L*V "C:\dvlog.txt" Then, open a support request and attach the log that was produced to an email from the case.

At that point, I get a dialog stating "ComponentArt.License.Manager has stopped working".
It appears there is a bug in the 2009.3 license manager...

I also tried the dropping of the CA.web.ui.dll into the toolbox and it says 1 item added but still no controls...
Dropping the dll directly into the toolbox should work. Keep in mind you'll only see items for the context of the project that is open. For AJAX controls, you'll need an open ASP...
