Hi there
The online demo hangs when uploading a file in google chrome (version 0.2.149.30).

My app also hangs.

Any news on this and other chrome incompatibilities? s there a dedicated 'known issues' area for chrome?

Thanks

Google Chrome is based on Apple's WebKit, which is what Safari uses. As mentioned on our Supported browsers page, Upload is not supported to work in Safari, so it's not likely to work in Chrome either I'm afraid.

thanks.

Is there a roadmap/time scale for this fix?

E.g. If you expect a fix in 3-6 months I could probably justify using the control whilst chrome usage is still quite low.

If you have no plans to support Chrome, then I will use something else.

Upload is also flaky in Opera. When I upload only the header of the Dialog is shown and eventually I will be redirected to a URL which looks like this - http://localhost:42812/NewVersion.aspx?47&CartUploadId=91ed0c9f-4d83-402a-b70b-74aaf532a5dc (several people reported it already). However, if I click on browser's Stop button somewhere in the process the Dialog will show it's Completed template and all is fine. Go figure...

I've asked the developers to look into adding Safari support to Upload, but we don't have a schedule on when this will happen.

pawel.krakowiak, is this with Web.UI 2008.2.1140? Is this problem reproducible with the live examples?

Yes, it was 2008.2.1140. The problem is not reproducible with the live examples. I could say that perhaps it is related to my way of handling of the uploaded files, but then it should break in all browsers perhaps and not only Opera... (Safari doesn't work of course, but it's official)

I have the same problem with Opera, in addition to it not working in Chrome and Safari.

Please add support for these browsers. Thanks.

Has there been an update to when this will be fixed? It's been 9 months since the original post asking this question. I am in a dilemma where I could really use this control but because some users use Safari and Chrome, I can't use this control at all.

On a side note the ComponentArt Editor also has issues, but that is a different problem altogether. Thanks for your time!

This is still an issue! As a previous posted mentioned this has been around for quite some time. I realize when Upload was first introduced Chrome was extremely new. I used upload anyway thinking that only the odd user might have an issue. 9+ months later more and more site visitors are using Chrome/Safari and can't use the upload feature of my site.

Please give an eta as to when this will be fixed! I highly highly recommend putting out solid bug free products before working on next gen products. If you can't get it right the first time around, why would I ever trust your new products/features???

Thanks in advance!

I've asked the developers to increase the priority of looking into this feature, F5064 "Add Safari support".

Anymore input regarding this issue? Atm its the single most important issue we have with componentart. Alot of our users are using safari.
Can I search for F5064 somewhere?

I just spent a weekend adding this control to one of our hi-gh traffic sites and integrating it for our needs. It works great in IE and Firefox, however I wish I had run into this thread before as I foolishly assumed it would also work on Safari and Chrome (like many other upload controls do). ..  Now after testing, I find out it does not.  >:/

Safari and Chrome account for 16% of our users for this particular website, where uploads are essential. That's thousands of unique users per month. We can't use this control without it supporting WebKit.

Any ideas when this will be fixed? We're now forced to go with another 3rd party control, but I'd like to know whether this issue is really being addressed or not as it has not been solved in such a long time.

Thanks.

I don't have a timeframe for this at present, but will again touch base with the team to keep them aware of our user feedback. I'm sorry I couldn't be me more helpful than this.

Was this issue addressed in the 2010 release? I am using it and seem to have the same issue with Chrome.
